Who we are

sniperdeals ("we", "us", "our") runs the website sniperdeals.co.uk and is building the sniperdeals web and mobile apps. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at support@sniperdeals.co.uk.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

  • Your email address (required)
  • Your first name, favourite brands, the categories you're interested in and your usual size, if you choose to give them
  • A record that you joined the waitlist to receive launch emails, and when

When you email us

Your name, email address and anything you include in your message.

When you visit the site

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it

  • To tell you about our launch and early access. We do this because you asked us to (your consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • To shape the app around what people want. We may look at waitlist preferences, such as popular brands and sizes, to decide which deals and retailers to prioritise. We use this in our legitimate interests, and only in a way you'd reasonably expect.
  • To reply to your messages. This is in our legitimate interests in running the business.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and misuse. This is in our legitimate interests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with service providers who help us run sniperdeals, and only as much as they need:

  • Netlify, which hosts this website and may store waitlist sign-ups.
  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which forwards each waitlist sign-up to our inbox by email.
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the fonts on this site. Your browser connects to Google's servers to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.
  • An email service, if we use one to send launch updates. We'll list it here when we do.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as approved contract terms.

We may also share information if the law requires us to.

When you follow a link from sniperdeals to a retailer, the retailer or an affiliate network (a company that tracks referrals between sites like ours and retailers) may set cookies or record that you came from us. This lets them pay us a commission if you buy something.

That information is collected by the retailer or network, not by us, and is covered by their own privacy policies. Please check them before you buy.

Cookies

This website does not currently set its own analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or 12 months after our public launch, whichever comes first.
  • Emails you send us: for as long as we need to deal with your message, and no more than 2 years after our last contact.
  • Technical logs: for the period set by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from our emails

To use any of these rights, email support@sniperdeals.co.uk. We'll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy as sniperdeals grows, for example when the app launches. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make important changes, we'll tell waitlist members by email.
